So what can you do to keep cool in your apartment without putting on AC? Here are a 5 few things and most you already have access to:
1. Close all the blinds or shades.
Less sun rays means less heat that is created like a green house effect from those rays passing through your windows. Want to instantly cool down your place? Close the blinds!
2. Turn off the lights!
Yes, light creates a subtle heat. After all it is energy being transformed to emit light. Turn off the lights and cool off a little.
3. Change those lights!
Changing to LED lighting can not only cool you down, but can also save you hundreds on your annual electric bill. Also, they last 20 years so you're saving money by not having to purchase new bulbs as often.
4. Use a fan.
BUT you must face the fan outside the window. First close all windows except 1 and take a fan and face the fan outside that open window. The fan will pull out the hot air.
5. Clean your room!
This may seem cliche but CLEAN UP. A clean living space can let more air circulate and have you feeling more light and free. Less items also means less things absorbing and insulating heat.
